Import Your Apple Notes Workouts into Log
Prepare your note, import it into Log and check the saved workouts. Understand recognition limits, data processing and when you can undo an import.
By Adrien BlancUpdated

To import your Apple Notes workout history into Log, copy the note’s text, paste it into the import screen and tap Import Note. Log analyzes the text, adds recognized workouts and opens your notebook. You check the result after it is saved; there is no second confirmation before the workouts are added.
Prepare a Readable Copy
Keep the original note in Notes. Work on a copy if you need to clarify dates or units. Remove personal information unrelated to your workouts before starting the import.
This flow uses text. A photo of a notebook or an attachment is not the same as its written contents: check what you have actually pasted. If you’re starting a new record, the Apple Notes workout template provides a clear format.
This invented note illustrates readable input. It is not a promise that recognition will reproduce every detail correctly.
14 September 2026 — Upper body
Barbell bench press: 3 sets of 8 at 50 kg, including bar
One-arm dumbbell row: 10, 10, 9 reps each side at 20 kg
Plank: 35 seconds, 30 seconds
17 September 2026 — Upper body
Barbell bench press: 8, 8, 7 reps at 50 kg, including bar
Dates separate the workouts. Equipment distinguishes the exercises. Units and reps describe the results you want to keep. Clarify an ambiguous line only when you know what the original meant.
Start the Import
- Open Log’s settings and choose Import Note. Importing is also available when you first set up Log.
- Paste the text into the field and check that it is the right note.
- Tap Import Note and wait for the analysis to finish.
- Review the workouts added to your notebook.
The import may also recognize a current program when the text supports one. It does not replace an already active program. If no reliable program is found, recognized workouts can still be added.
Check the Saved Workouts
Compare the dates, exercise names, weights, units and individual sets with your original. In the example, the second workout has eight, eight and seven bench press reps. Three sets of eight would change that record.
Also check weight per dumbbell and reps per side. A number can look plausible while using the wrong convention.
Unresolved passages are retained with the import and may appear under Notes Imports in settings. Retained text does not mean a completed set was created. Recognition can make mistakes or leave part of your note unstructured.
Correct or Undo an Import
You can correct the added entries in your notebook. If you want to remove the whole import instead, first open Settings → Notes Imports → Undo This Import.
Undo is available while the affected data remains compatible with reversing the import. Editing an imported workout may remove that option. Log then keeps your changes rather than deleting them. Undo removes the affected imported content in Log; it does not delete the original note you kept in Notes.
Know Where the Text Goes
Importing is optional and may send the text to Google Gemini through a Cloudflare-hosted relay. It requires an internet connection. Log’s relay does not store notes in a database or log their contents; providers’ own processing terms still apply.
Read the privacy policy if you want the details before importing. You can also begin a notebook directly in Log without importing a note.
